Omezzine Khelifa

Founder, Mobdiun - Creative Youth

Driven by authenticity, creativity, and purpose I am striving to make a lasting impact in the world. Telecom engineer specialized in computer science by training and social entrepreneur by doing, I have a 360 degrees public policy experience with a strong focus on countering terrorism and towards international development. My areas of competence range from financial sector reforms to diverting youth from violence. After twice running for Tunisian Parliament, I was appointed Senior Advisor to the minister of Finance of Tunisia where I spearheaded open governance, state budget transparency, and tax system reforms. Building on my cabinet experience, I supported the work of the World Bank Group, the European Union, and the United Nations, leading policy dialogue and providing technical assistance to the Tunisian government on several critical reforms including financial sector, governance, and youth inclusion.

For the past eight years, I have been founding and running Mobdiun, a peace organization that counters violent extremist projects locally and advocates for gendered public policies preventing violent extremism regionally. I also have been at the source of building ASL a national civil society coalition for security and violent extremism prevention, publishing policy briefs and proposing multi-sectorial reforms to the Tunisian government. My entrepreneurial spirit, my strong organizational skills, and my capacity to adapt in any given circumstance helped me build Mobdiun from the ground up and leave my role as CEO with growing annual funds and a team of 40 collaborators serving 3,000 youth. My roots go back to finance, developing risk analysis systems for a global investment bank then leading market risk products for a fintech company, both in the context of international environment. I have built my career between France, Tunisia, and the United States and my work has been recognized by several global leadership organizations such as the Obama Foundation, the World Economic Forum, and the Aspen Institute.

I have an MS in Telecommunications and Computer Science Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique, ENSIMAG in France and have completed an Executive Module in Global Leadership & Public Policy of the 21st century at Harvard Kennedy School of Government as well as one-year course as an Obama Scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York.
