Managing Director, Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd

Pratik Agarwal is the Managing Director of Sterlite Power, which is part of the metals and mining conglomerate – Vedanta Limited.

A Wharton graduate and an MBA from London Business School, Pratik has more than14 years of experience in building core infrastructure assets in India. He founded the Vedanta Group’s infrastructure business in 2009 and built it up to levels where it now has significant investments in ports, power transmission and broadband networks.

The boundless potential of power transmission and bringing light to the remotest corners of the country and reversing climate change are the cornerstones of Pratik’s abiding interests – which is why he invests his time in developing cutting edge technologies to change the way transmission is built in the industry. He has also announced a decarbonization platform to help energy intensive companies to switch to green energy. He is also actively pursuing development of cross-country transmission interconnectors to tap into rich RE diversity across continents in line with the One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) initiative.

Pratik is the chairman of the committee on Power Transmission of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), member of the Indian Advisory Board of the India-Brazil Chamber of Commerce (IBCC) and the President of Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA), India.

He received the Economic Times CEO of the Year Award at the Energy Leadership Summit. In 2018, he also received Economic Times 40 under 40 award, which recognizes young business leaders under the age of 40.
