Rachid Mohamed Rachid is one of the most prominent entrepreneurs in the international consumer and luxury industry and is considered one of the 500 most influential people in the global fashion industry. Rachid is also the former Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment to Egypt, and continues to make his mark around the world.

Currently, Rachid is the Founder and Chairman of ALSARA Investment Group, which advises, manages and strategically invests in companies in creative industries in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. ALSARA also has an investment portfolio in VC and Growth funds, as well as smaller investments in creative and technology focused startups.

Rachid is the CEO of Mayhoola for Investment, which invests in luxury brands, and is the Chairman of Valentino and the Chairman of Balmain; two of the leading luxury fashion companies in the world.

Rachid also has a strong presence in the FMCG industry, as the Vice Chairman of the Lipton group for herbal drinks brands.

Prior to establishing ALSARA, Rachid had transformed his family JV with Unilever into one of the most successful companies in the MENA region before eventually selling it to Unilever. During this time, Rachid became the president of Unilever North Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, along with becoming an executive member of Unliver’s global food division.
