1973, graduate, Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. 1973-77, with Interpublic, Zagreb; 1978-2000, Founder and Director, Coning, Varazdin. 1990: Co-Founder, Zagak (now Croatia Airlines); Independent Candidate, Coalition of People's Accord, the first multiparty election in Croatia; Member, Constitutional Commission for drafting of new Constitution of the Republic of Croatia; Founder and Member of the Presidency, HNS; 1991, Brigadier, Croatian Army, conducted negotiations and served as a hostage for honouring of terms of surrender and safe transfer of disarmed JNA troops to Serbia. 1993, Vice-President, HNS; 1994-2000, and 2008 President, HNS; 1995, elected to the House of Representatives, Croatian Parliament; 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2011, elected to Croatian Parliament. 2000-03, Minister for Public Works, member of the core cabinet of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. 2000-08, Chairman of the Central Board, HNS; 2005, Prefect of Varazdin County. Currently, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Croatia. Three terms as President, Croatian Tennis Federation. Recipient: Independence War medal; Order of Prince Domagoj with Neckband.
