Rashid Timbilla

Global Shaper, Boston Hub

Rashid Timbilla joined the Global Shapers in 2017. Prior to joining, he was the captain of the University of Ottawa football team and is currently a Common Law student at the U of O. During his studies, Rashid volunteers his time to different endeavours including the Young Leaders Advisory Council helping racialized youth. He focuses his time on helping the most disadvantaged. He is a summer student at Rasmussen Starr Ruddy and will be clerking at the Federal Court of Canada after graduating. In 2019, Rashid was elected as Curator of the Ottawa Global Shapers by his peers. Rashid ran for Curator because he saw the strength and importance of the Global Shapers in the Ottawa Community. As a co-lead for the Syrian Refugee Art Exhibit and the Parliamentary Basketball Tournament, he’s seen first-hand how the Hub can mobilize to address complex issues in novel ways. He looks forward to the year ahead.
