Rekha Kumari, YALE GLOBAL SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP FELLOW and shaper & Ex-Curator at WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM-PATNA HUB, works closely on rural enterprise development, livelihood, and gender sensitive project implementation at grass root level in Bihar, India as well as to do policy advocacy through action research, workshops, and representation of voice of women on various platforms. She brings distinctive experience to her role as Director & Program Head at KAUSHALYA Foundation from her seven years of working after completing her MBA and sits on National Advisory Board of NGO Kasturi. She is member of Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of Livestock & Fisheries Resources Department, Government of Bihar and has been leading the entrepreneurship movement for women and is Patna Chapter Chairperson for Entrepreneurship of ALL(All Ladies League- A global platform of women of significance).She was an active member of Bihar Entrepreneur Association engaged in promoting entrepreneurs in Bihar to provided supportive ecosystem for them and member of Indian American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Patna chapter. Through multipronged approach she has supported and empowered 13000+ women farmers in Bihar to promote rural enterprises and start-ups, acquisition and strengthening of relevant skills and with enabling of resources required to lead a sustainable livelihood choice and live a dignified life with better social and financial status. She has played pivotal role to fight for women rights has voiced the need and wants of rural women at several forum including Global Farmer Meet- 2014 held in Gurgaon, FICCI Global Summit on Agriculture in 2015, Star Forum, State Level Convention of women farmer for policy paper in Bihar, Bihar Entrepreneur Association-Gender Equality workshop and many such International, National , State and District level platform. She is a Master Trainer on “Food and nutrition of women and child “and a Certified trainer on “combating violence against women and girl” from Ministry of women and child development (MWCD), Govt of India. For her contribution to address the challenges faced by women in Bihar she has been conferred with Women Bravery Award. She advocates for gender equality & equity and sees great role of start-up and rural enterprises in development of her state and world (where majority live in rural areas). In her personal life, she is a simple person and values integrity. led by humanity and compassion, she believes to be fortunate to have opportunities in life and feel obliged to give back to her society and state where she believes more need to be done to achieve holistic social and economic development.
