Roberto Setubal

Roberto Egydio Setubal is Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Itaú Unibanco Holding S.A. He started his career at the bank in 1980, having held various positions until being appointed as CEO in 1994, role held until April 2017.
Since 1994 Roberto Setubal is a member of the International Monetary Conference. From 1997 to 2000, he was the elected President of FEBRABAN (Federação Brasileira de Bancos) and from 2011 to 2017 he was also chairman. He is a member of the Board at the IIF (Institute of International Finance), being vice-chairman from 2003 to 2014. In 2002 Roberto Setubal also became a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and in 2003 he was appointed a member of the Brazilian Economic & Social Development Council (CDES), position held until today. From October 1st, 2017 until April 30rd Roberto Setubal was a member of Shell's Board of Directors.
He is also a founding member and President of the Executive Committee of Fundação Itaú Social, that develops social initiatives focused in education in partnership with UNICEF and other NGOs. Roberto is also a member of the Executive Committee of Instituto Itaú Cultural, the group’s arm focused in democratizing and valuing Brazilian culture.
Roberto Setubal has a degree in Production Engineering from Escola Politécnica of the University of São Paulo (USP) and has a Master of Science in Engineering from Stanford University.
