Formerly: Professor of Economics in postgraduate programmes, Business School, Getúlio Vargas Foundation, São Paulo; with Banco Itaú; with Food and Agriculture Organization, Rome; with International Cocoa Organization, London. With Inter-American Development Bank: 1990-94, member of group that spearheaded newly established policy-based lending; 1994-1997, Principal Advisor to Executive Vice-President; 1997-2007, Head, Energy and Industries Operations, Private Sector Department; 2007, Manager of Infrastructure and Environment Department. Author of articles on theoretical and applied economics in Brazilian academic journals including Revista Brasileira de Economia, Revista de Economia Política and Revista de Econometria, and research papers published by Cornell University. Author of book on project finance structures for private infrastructure projects and articles on infrastructure development and financing in industry magazines including Project Finance International and Infrastructure Journal.
