Indigo Ag – President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member

Ron has been serving in his current position at Indigo Ag since September 2020 and has served as a board member since July 2019. Indigo is leading the transition of agriculture to be more beneficial to people and planet through technology and science-based solutions. As an independent and trusted technology platform partner, Indigo develops software tools, data, and biological products to enable digital grain marketing and Carbon farming to industry stakeholders around the world. Ron also continues to serve as an executive partner at Flagship Pioneering, the founding company of Indigo, since joining Flagship in October 2018.
Ron has extensive previous experience in the technology and software industries as a chief executive officer and adviser to venture capital start-up companies. From 2011 to 2017, Ron served as president and chief executive officer of Intralinks, Inc. Prior to that, he spent from 2003 to 2011 at Novell, Inc., serving as president and chief executive officer for six of those years. From 2000 to 2003, Ron worked in venture capital directly assisting companies at each stage of development, from early ideation through growth phases, while serving as a board member. Ron started his career at IBM and served in several executive positions over approximately a 16-year period, including the last position as general manager of several vertical industries solutions, including retail, consumer packaged goods manufacturers, and wholesale.
Ron currently serves as chair of the ANSYS board of directors, appointed in 2014, and as a member of the board since 2012. Ron has also been serving as chair of the board of Valo Health, another Flagship company, since June 2019. From 2018 to June 2021, Ron served as executive chairman of the Skillsoft board of directors and continues to serve on the board since the sale of Skillsoft in June 2021. His previous board experience also includes Pegasystems from January 2019 to 2021, ECi Solutions from 2017 to 2020, and ANN Inc. (Ann Taylor) from 1998 to 2015, where he also served as executive chairman of ANN’s board of directors from 2005 to 2015.
Ron received a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and currently serves on the Board of Regents at Boston College with special focus on defining and creating the new Integrated Sciences and Society efforts in life sciences.
