Rye Barcott is a Marine Corps veteran, social entrepreneur, investor, and New York Times-bestselling author of Courage Can Save US.

Barcott first participated in the World Economic Forum in 2011 as a Young Global Leader. He returned to Davos in 2013 as Special Advisor to the late Jim Rogers, Chairman and CEO of Duke Energy. Since 2022, he has hosted the bipartisan With Honor–World Economic Forum U.S. Delegation Reception, an annual gathering whose idea originated with his late friend and With Honor co-founder, David Gergen.

Barcott is CEO of With Honor, a cross-partisan organization that fights polarization by supporting principled veteran leadership in public office. Since 2018, the organization has helped elect more than 200 veterans and national security professionals, including 50 serving in Congress, and has helped pass more than 200 bipartisan laws.

As a college student, Barcott co-founded CFK Africa (formerly Carolina for Kibera), a locally led youth leadership and public health non-governmental organization based in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya. After earning master's degrees from Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, he co-founded Double Time Capital, an investment firm focused on solar power.

His first book, It Happened on the Way to War: A Marine's Path to Peace, juxtaposes humanitarian and military service in Kenya and Iraq. Following its publication, Dartmouth College awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.

Barcott earned a bachelor's degree in Peace, War, and Defense with highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives with his wife and three children in Charlotte, North Carolina.
