Sana Khan

Sana Khan is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Golak Inc. - a mobile application that democratizes access to interest-free credit for underserved communities through digitizing a centuries-old peer lending tradition. Outside of Golak, she works in the policy shop of Canada’s Social Innovation & Social Finance Strategy.

Sana's experience in social innovation and entrepreneurship spans from working as the first non-founding team member of a social good crowdfunding platform (LaunchGood) that has raised more than $600M in funding for 70K social good projects to date, to working in an impact measurement role with a crowd-financing platform (Ethis Ventures) that finances the development of affordable housing units.

She also holds policy coordination and performance measurement experience working at the United Nations Department of Management. The most meaningful role Sana has gained in social innovation has been conducting field research to advise on a livelihood model for refugee micro-entrepreneurs in Bangladesh with the LSE Social Innovation Lab and the NGO, BRAC. Her field experience in Bangladesh as a Graduate Student Researcher is what led her to creating Golak Inc.

Sana holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management from the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business, and a Master of Science in Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics & Political Science. Her efforts in the field of social innovation & impact were recognized by the Prime Minister of Canada as one of Alberta's Top 30 Under 30 by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation.
