PhD, FBPsS. Holds a chair in Social Psychology at the LSE; directs the Graduate Programme in Social and Cultural Psychology. Fellow, British Psychological Society. Research interests and expertise in the social psychology of public spheres, community and social development. Has published widely in these fields. Regular adviser to government, policy-makers and science foundations. Author, ?Underground Sociabilities: identity, culture and resistance in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro? (2013). Interests: reading novels, gardening and mountain walking with family and friends.
