Shem Opolot currently serves as the Uganda Program Manager for Duke University’s Division of Global Neurosurgery and Neurology (DGNN), an organization dedicated to promoting health in low- and middle-income countries through a multi-faceted evidence-based, and collaborative approach to improving patient access to care, strengthening health systems and informing policy.
Shem, who has a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s in Global Health, with a concentration in health economics and health policy, has vast experience in health policy, health economics, health system strengthening, data science, and program management. Shem is passionate about universal healthcare coverage, data-driven decision-making, collaborative innovation, and strategic stakeholder engagement to solve society’s challenges.
Shem Opolot is also the founder of The Good Currency Limited, a Ugandan start-up offering data science as a service to individuals, businesses, and organizations.
