Kacha (Shogun) Mahadumrongkul

Community Champion, Mainland Southeast Asia

Shogun is most passionate about using innovative technologies to transform healthcare and advance sustainability for underserved communities in Southeast Asia and beyond. He is currently the Founder of Avant Labs, a technology and impact incubator and innovation hub that supports emerging markets startups building in AI, sustainability, healthcare, and economic/social inclusion. He previously served as the Founder and Lead of Horizon Incubation, a pre-seed stage incubator that invests into AI and deep-tech startups globally and has previously served as Head of Research/Senior Investments Associate at KBTG Investments, a $100 million fund investing in deep technology projects.

Alongside his investment work, Shogun has a strong passion for entrepreneurship. As the founding COO of Penta Medical Recycling, he helped repurpose over $50 million in medical waste to restore mobility for amputees in 20 countries. He also co-founded Penta Innovation, where he led efforts to test and commercialize an MIT Media Lab-designed prosthetic ankle joint, cutting the cost of high-quality prostheses by 95% and making it affordable for low-income amputees. In addition, Shogun served as Head of Product at Upbit, where he led the launch of Thailand's digital assets exchange. He also represented Thailand's youth as a delegate at COP28, advising the Department of Climate Change on implementing technology policies to support youth-led climate innovations. Shogun holds a Diploma in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. in Engineering Sciences and History from Yale University.
