Shuwargwe Damak is an assiduous multipotentialite serving in different capacities across different sectors in Nigeria. She is a Public Servant occupying the position of an Assistant Manager in the Office of the Secretary to the Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
She is a patriotic Nigerian whose passion for education and desire to see change in her environment led her to form the non-profit organization, Arm the child foundation. She has led the organization over the past 6 years to empower over 1,000 internally displaced and vulnerable children in Abuja and Jos, with education, digital and vocational skills. This has led to her nomination for a number of awards in Nigeria including the SME 25 Under 25 awards, Africa’s 30 Under 30 awards amongst others.
Additionally, she has actively contributed to leading transformative change in Nigeria through the Abuja hub, from serving as the Project Co-Lead of the Meet the Future project to pioneering the Recycle 4 Education and Education 4 Peace projects. Most significantly, her leadership of the Recycle 4 Education project led to the collection of over 200,000 plastic bottles from the Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria, thereby tackling plastic pollution and funding school enrollment for 20 internally displaced children in Abuja.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Law & Diplomacy, a Masters degree in Business Administration and has recently enrolled for another undergraduate degree in Economics owing to her newly developed desire to explore Development Economics.
