Silvia Constain leads the Latin America & Caribbean Government Engagement team for Visa. She joined Visa after spending some time in Facebook and Apple's Public Policy teams. Prior to that, she Headed the Investment, Services and Intellectual Property Division at Colombia’s Ministry of Trade. Was a trade negotiator at Colombian Mission to the World Trade Organization in Geneva and was head of congressional affairs and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy in Washington DC. As a consultant, worked on projects with the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation (World Bank) United Nations Commission on Trade and Development, USAID, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and others, as well as with several private companies.
