Ambassador Surapon served as the Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Chile. His diplomatic career also took him to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Copenhagen, Denmark. He held various positions in the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the Department of East Asian Affairs, where he was Deputy Director-General, and Department of Consular Affairs, where he was Director-General. Ambassador Surapon served also as a Consul-General in Malaysia. He is the President of the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation (MVF) and, amongst other official and advisory roles, he currently serves as a Member of the Committee of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association.
