Sylvain Haon is since 2019 Senior Director of Strategy at UITP (International Association of Public Transport). Sylvain started his career at the Trade Office of the French Embassy in Rome where he was responsible for the land transport sector, public works and environment. He went on to be the head of the Brussels office of SNCF directorate for European affairs in 2000. In 2003, he joined the Polis network of cities and regions. He became Secretary General of Polis in 2006 and remained in this position until he joined UITP. Sylvain is a member of the WEF Global Future Council on Mobility. Among other positions, he has been in the past co-chair of ERTRAC (the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council) on urban transport.
