A Bilingual executive with an impressive track record offering more than 20 years of multinational management experience in the Middle East and East Africa region in diversified markets and industries.

He has worked for various Multinational companies throughout his career, Carrier, 3M, Dow.

Tamer Abol Ghar joined Philips in 2001 as CFO.
He was appointed as Country Manager responsible for the overall Philips operations in Egypt in 2004.

2004 He combined his country management role with General Management of the Lighting business in Egypt.

2008 He was appointed as Lighting General Manager for East Africa Region.

2015 he was appointed as General Manager Professional End User Africa to overlook the End User system and services solutions across the continent.

2016 He was appointed as VP CEO Africa Market.

Mr. Tamer, born in Cairo, Egypt in 1972, is qualified in the area of finance and management. His academic background includes a degree in Commerce with an Accounting major from Cairo University, followed by a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

He has successfully transformed Philips lighting from a small setup in Egypt to managing the fast growing and dynamic cluster of 9 countries in the East Africa cluster with a highly motivated team of colleagues.

He is now driving the transformation of the Africa Market towards Smart Cities System and Service solutions.
