Thenu is the CEO of Oaktree, Australia’s largest youth-run international development agency. Her team oversees youth empowerment and leadership projects across the Asia pacific that allow young people to have a voice in shaping their communities. She has previously worked with World Vision, Teach for Australia and the Australian Institute of International Affairs while completing studies in Politics and Law. She is on the executive team of the Commonwealth Human Rights and Democracy Network and a co-author of the Australian Youth National Security Strategy. The proud daughter of Sri Lankan immigrants, Thenu’s passion for human rights and justice is unwavering. She envisions a world where governments, civil society and the private sector can come together to provide innovate solutions to the most pressing issues of our time.
