Formerly, 14 years as Curator, Department of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; organized two major exhibitions on Renaissance and Baroque tapestry. 2009, became the ninth director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art; has pursued an agenda that focuses on scholarship and accessibility. These priorities maintain the museum's excellence in its exhibitions, publications, acquisitions, and permanent collections, while encouraging new thinking about the visitor's experience.
