Edward is the Co-Founder & CEO of AI Safety Asia, driving the overall strategy and success of the nonprofit to position Asia as a leading voice in global AI governance and safety.
He currently serves on the advisory board of the MA in AI and the Future program at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. Previously, he led the APAC business of a late-stage startup with over 100M raised, managing the business development team and setting up the growth strategy. He is also the founder of Connecting Myanmar, a Hong Kong-based charity that has supported education in Myanmar since 2011. Currently they are running a conditional cash transfer project in Myanmar with 1M Euro initial funding. He previously served on the board of Amnesty International Hong Kong advising on fundraising and engagement strategy and also advised PwC, State Street, CLSA, Nomura, Credit Suisse and Macquarie on their corporate-NGO match-making program. He holds a Master of Laws with distinction from the University of Hong Kong and presented at the Media Policy Institute organized by the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Oxford, GenAI Summit at Jesus College Oxford, Paris Peace Forum and more.
