ERC Research Professor, Trinity College Dublin; Principal Investigator, Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices (CRANN). Current research interests include atomic-resolution aberration-corrected electron microscopy and liquid-phase processing of low-dimensional nanomaterials; leads a research group of 18 people; has secured more than 15 million euros of research funding in the last five years. Has published more than 100 papers in major scientific journals, including Science, Nature and Nature Nanotechnology.
