Dr Valérie Marcel is the co-founder and executive director of the New Producers for Sustainable Energy (formerly known as the New Producers Group). It is a South-South knowledge-sharing network of 24 emerging oil and gas producer countries. Valerie is an expert on both the governance of the petroleum sector and policies that enable an orderly exit from it in the Global South. She has worked 20 years on energy at a leading global think tank and 10 years advising governments and national oil companies on petroleum and energy policy and governance, developing a focus on navigating the energy transition.
