First joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 working in the firm’s Investment Banking division. 2002-05, Chairman, China, Credit Suisse and subsequently for Citigroup Global Markets. 2006, rejoined Morgan Stanley as Chief Executive Officer, China. Formerly: Associate Director, Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), helping formulate the regulations in preparation for the Hong Kong public listings of the first group of Mainland Chinese companies in 1993. Prior to this, Lawyer with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in New York. Named: Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women (MPW) “International list” for eleven consecutive years, since 2008; one of the 12 “Women of 2013”, Financial Times; to Fortune’s “China Powerful Women” and the Forbes “Businesswomen in China” lists since 2009. Member of the Board of Directors of the Estée Lauder Companies. Graduate (Hons), Amherst College, Massachusetts; 1989, JD, Columbia University School of Law; admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
