1980's, fours years studying Painting, art school affiliated to Xi'an Academy of Fine Art in the 80s; 1992, Bachelor's in Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing; 2001, Master's in Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts, New York. Experience in painting, photography, mixed media, video and multimedia installations; exhibits domestically and internationally, including Whitney Museum of American Art, Pompidou Centre, International Centre for Photography, Victoria and Albert Museum, 1st Yokohama Triennale and Sydney Biennale; works collected by museums including Whitney Museum, Getty Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, ICP, SF MoMA, Pompidou, FNAC, Victoria and Albert Museum; subjects include: dislocation between cultural status, conflicts between globalization and traditions, problematic environmental issues created by development, urban drama between desire and reality.
