Yasunobu AIHARA was born in 1960, Tokyo, Japan. After graduated Hosei University in 1983, he joined Toyota Motor Corporation. He started his trade union career in 1990 when he was elected as executive committee member of Toyota Motor Worker’s Union.
After elected as Vice President in 1998, and as General Secretary of Federation of All Toyota Workers’ Unions in 2002, he shifted his career to federation level when elected as General Secretary of Confederation of Japan Automobile Workers’ Unions (JIDOSHA SOREN) in 2008, and as President in 2012. At the 15th Biennial Convention, he became General Secretary of Japanese Trade Union Confederation (JTUC-RENGO).
