Yoshito Hori

Founder and President, GLOBIS University; Founding Partner, GLOBIS Capital Partners; Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, GLOBIS

Mr. Yoshito Hori established GLOBIS in 1992, a business school which was accredited by the Japanese Government in 2006. Now GLOBIS University has an annual intake of more than 1200 MBAs, by far the No.1 Business School in Japan.

He also founded GLOBIS Capital in 1996, which in 1999 formed a joint venture with Apax, later became GLOBIS Capital Partners (GCP). GCP is regarded as the No.1 Venture Capital Firm in Japan in terms of track record, size and reputation.

In 2008, he launched the G1 Summit—a Japanese version of WEF’s annual Davos Forum. G1 Institute has become the leading community and think tank to improve the state of Japan.

In 2016, he purchased Ibaraki Robots Sports, a professional basketball team in Mito, Ibaraki. In 2022 he started a Rock Festival, named “LuckyFes”.

He authored several books, including Visionary Leaders Who Create and Innovate Societies, and My Personal Mission Statement.

Mr. Hori received his BS in engineering from Kyoto University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He is an avid swimmer with 5 sons and a wife.
