Geneva, Switzerland, 12 June 2014 – Media accreditation for the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions is now open. The Meeting will take place in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China from 10-12 September 2014. Members of the media who wish to cover the Meeting must sign up at www.weforummedia.org.

The 8th Annual Meeting of the New Champions is the foremost global gathering focusing on science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. Under the theme, Creating Value through Innovation, the meeting is structured around four pillars:

Connect! – By applying the latest tools and best practices to learn and lead in a fast-paced world
Catalyse! – By unlocking creativity and reducing complexity to increase strategic and operational agility
Compete! – By tapping into new markets and fulfilling unmet needs
Contribute! – By sharing how your business success drives social progress

More than 1,500 leaders from business, government and research from over 90 countries are expected to participate. Together with the Forum’s Members and Partners, participants will include the “new champions”, which comprise Global Growth Companies, Young Global Leaders, Young Scientists, Technology Pioneers, Social Entrepreneurs and Global Shapers.

The deadline for media accreditation is Wednesday 20 August 2014. No accreditation will be done on site. All accreditation requests are subject to final confirmation by the World Economic Forum.
