Geneva, Switzerland, 18 August 2016 – The World Economic Forum has opened media accreditation for the first Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils, which will take at the Madinat Jumeirah Convention Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 13-14 November 2016.

The Annual Meeting of Global Future Councils 2016 will bring together over 700 of the world’s most relevant experts from the World Economic Forum’s Network of Global Future Councils to provide insight and recommendations on some of the most pressing global challenges and systems. These include economic growth and social inclusion, migration, international security, trade, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution in all its aspects – from fintech to robots.

Comprising 34 individual groups of experts from academia, business, civil society, international organizations and government, the councils provide forward-looking thought leadership for the Forum’s strategic initiatives. For media, the meeting provides a unique chance to meet with these thinkers and discuss the world’s pressing issues at length.

Last year’s participants list included José Manuel Barroso, Emily Bell, Ian Bremmer, John Gapper, Pascal Lamy, Kevin Rudd, Salil Shetty, Anne-Marie Slaughter, and many others. The meeting is hosted by the UAE government.

If you would like to cover the meeting, please submit your accreditation request online at www.weforummedia.org. The deadline for media accreditation is Friday 14 October. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted and no accreditation will be considered on-site. All requests are subject to confirmation by the World Economic Forum.
