New York City, United States, 31 July 2017 – Media accreditation for the World Economic Forum’s first ever Sustainable Development Impact Summit is now open. The Summit will be held in New York on 18 -19 September 2017, during the United Nations General Assembly. It is dedicated to accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris climate agreement through public-private cooperation and the application of technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Summit will convene over 400 leaders from business, civil society, government, and academia who are committed to increasing the pace of progress on the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Also taking part will be leaders from the Forum’s communities of Global Shapers, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, Young Global Leaders and Technology Pioneers. They will work out how public-private cooperation and innovation could have a larger systemic impact in the areas in which they work.

In the spirit of the Forum’s System Initiatives, the Summit will serve as a platform for driving increased commitment to many of the best examples of multistakeholder action regarding SDGs and the Paris climate accord. The programme will consist of over 30 sessions and will help leaders to learn what impact is being achieved, discuss how it can be scaled and take part in action for long-term change. It will emphasize the transformative potential of new, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and how they can be applied to achieve the SDGs and climate commitments.

If you wish to cover the event, please submit your accreditation request online at www.weforummedia.org. Deadline for media accreditation is Monday, 4 September 2017. As the number of accreditations issued is strictly limited, we will not be able to accommodate late registrations. All accreditation requests are subject to confirmation by the World Economic Forum. No accreditation will be granted on site.
