Crowdfunding for Colombia

Our Colombian, Paris-based Shaper, Juan Felipe Mesa has organised, via his NGO 'Join a Town' (which promotes the sustainable development of vulnerable communities), and in collaboration with other Colombian Global Shapers and several associations, a crowdfunding effort to raise money to help Colombians living in precarious conditions during the COVID-19 health crisis. In Colombia at least 50% of the population have informal jobs and live on a day-to-day basis. Confinement is therefore a difficult option. For many, isolating themselves means having no incoming revenue. The Colombian government is also struggling and will not be capable of helping all vulnerable communities impacted by the situation. Featuring and promoting this campaign could help hundreds, if not thousands of people, allowing those in unstable employment to self-isolate without falling into financial ruin.
