Tripoli is struggling to capture a shared vision for its future and institutionalizing collaborative mechanisms. Years of political clashes and the recent influx of refugees have left the city behind in the knowledge and innovation economy. As Shapers of the Tripoli Hub, we want to help citizens and city practitioners design a collective vision to help give people a sense of direction and provide a vision to ignite them to go beyond the current status quo.We aim to facilitate a participatory visioning process through having formalized and institutionalized mechanisms for the different stakeholders to cooperate, co-decide, and co-create. The Hub will undertake a ‘Think Tank Roadshow’ designed to mobilise the visions of various stakeholder groups for the future of Tripoli so that the strategy and vision that we ultimately develop is not only understood and endorsed by the community but also encompasses its aspiration.
