Problem Statement : Currently, a person with female anatomy is 300% more likely to die from a heart attack than a person with male anatomy due to a late diagnosis. They are also 50% more likely to experience a misdiagnosis.
Target Area : Mainly women.
Proposed Solution : Educate and empower stakeholders (women & doctors primarily) about the differences in symptoms experienced by men and women during a heart attack.
Hub Activities : Specifically, we are looking to partner with local, social sports events to offer a “know your numbers” campaign where specialists can take event participants' health metrics and educate them about the risks around the heart attack gender gap.
Short & Long-Term Goals/Results : As a result of these know your numbers campaigns we aim to educate the at risk population in Lausanne. We hope to create a template that can be recreated in any and every city.
Available Metrics: The metrics that are important are the number of people that have been educated and taught basic CPR. Ideally (once larger & if accessible) access to misdiagnosis and death rates in the areas would be interesting to see if there is a true reduction in the Heart Attack Gender Gap.
Collaborators : To be determined
