Maoka CJSS literacy project

The Gaborone Hub is running a literacy project in collaboration with Maoka Community Junior Secondary School. This project offers students a one-on-one opportunity to engage with material taught in school.

We have selected 100 Form 2/Grade 9 students, with the help of the teachers at the school, who will be involved in this mentorship/tutorship programme until they sit for their Junior Secondary Leavers' Examination in 2015. We will monitor how alternative means of information dissemination can be applied in the Botswana context. This project forms the basis of a programme that we are hoping to roll out once assessments have been done in 2015. This will, hopefully, become a long term Global Shapers Project.
