The Global Shapers from Quito identified multiple innovations and entrepreneurial initiatives regarding education and productivity which, in general terms, are currently isolated from one another. The hub conducted a small focus group and acknowledged the lack of information regarding these initiatives in other parts of the city or in other cities in Ecuador. In this context, the hub decided to identify and map the innovators and entrepreneurs from the city, with the objective of creating bonds and linkages and promoting Quito as an innovative city in the region and in the world. The hub held a special launch event with around 70 local innovators and entrepreneurs who gathered at WorkinUp. The group had a pitch round of Shaper and non-Shaper led initiatives (ventures, endeavors) to talk about how each contributes to making Quito a city of innovation and productivity.
