The Good Currency

To reduce youth unemployment and support business productivity, the Kampala Hub propose The Good Currency.

The Good Currency will partner with several non-profit and for-profit organizations to encourage citizens/companies to engage in community service. Citizens/companies will accrue points for every act of service performed, and these points will be stored in the individual’s/company’s ‘good pocket’. The points can only be redeemed by the individuals/companies for donation to another act of philanthropy of their choice, thereby perpetuating cycles of giving. Individuals can use the points to access skills development training related to technology proficiency and can compete for placements in partner organisations.
