The Mask Upcycling Project

There are more than 2 million coronavirus cases globally. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted lives; according to health experts and scientists, we will have to live with the disruption for a year or more until a vaccine can be developed. Living with the virus requires many adjustments to our way of life including the use of masks. Masks are an important tool for protection against COVID-19. The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended the use of face masks in gatherings. In Germany, it's mandatory to wear a face mask on public transport and while shopping in many federal states, including the North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Global Shapers Düsseldorf Hub is organising mask upcycling workshops online, to teach everyone how they can make their own masks to fight COVID-19 using easy-to-find materials at home, without having to go out and shop in multiple stores for multiple items.
