Given its abundance of resources, size and location, Brazil has the potential and capacity to become a world leader in the near-zero carbon products. By 2050, the country plans to more than double its deployment of renewables by focusing on wind and solar. This volume of clean power – combined with the country’s potential to produce green hydrogen – will prove critical to decarbonizing Brazil’s heavy industries.

The First Movers Coalition was launched at COP26 as a partnership between the World Economic Forum and US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate to help decarbonize the world’s heavy-emitting sectors via private sector demand for decarbonization technology.
