
How Indonesia is prioritising school children’s wellbeing amid climate change
Extreme heat increasingly threatens children’s health, particularly in countries like Indonesia affected by climate change. Climate education is key for the future
Adriana Viola Miranda, MD, serves as the Director of Program and Monitoring, Evaluation & Research at 1000 Days Fund, a nonprofit organization focusing on stunting eradication in Indonesia through community health systems strengthening. Under her leadership, the organization has reached hundreds of thousands of community health workers (CHWs) and households. By combining her experiences as a medical doctor and global health practitioner, she has previously co-founded and built award-winning global organizations. She is also a researcher and a journal editor with over 45 peer-reviewed publications.
In her free time, Adriana volunteers as the Regional Director for Asia at Global Health Focus (GHF), a research network aiming to mold critical thinkers in global health. She is also the former Curator & the current partnership lead of Global Shapers Bandung (a part of the Global Shapers Community, a World Economic Forum initiative). For her global health initiatives and social work, she received the Diana Award in 2024, established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales.
