Andrés Gluski has served as CEO of The AES Corporation since 2011, transforming it into one of the world’s largest clean power providers to corporations with a focus on technology companies. AES supplies over 10 GW of agreements signed directly with technology customers, including long-term PPAs for clean energy and load growth at our US utilities. AES is also the largest importer of U.S. LNG in Latin America and the Caribbean.

AES pioneered grid-scale battery energy storage nearly two decades ago and remains a leader in energy innovation. This leadership has earned the company a record seven Edison Awards from the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the most in the industry. AES was named to The Wall Street Journal’s “Top 250 Best Managed Companies” in 2021, 2022, and 2024, and in 2025 was recognized by the Ethisphere® Institute as one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” for the 12th consecutive year.

Beyond his role at AES, Andrés serves as Chairman of the Council of the Americas and is a member of the Executive Committee of EEI’s Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Waste Management and as co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Electricity Industry community. Andrés earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Virginia.
