Christie Burley is an award-winning innovation and sustainability leader, specializing in decarbonization, sustainable finance, and natural capital. Ms. Burley is a Vice President at BlackRock in Sustainability, and the co-founder of ReWorld.eco, a non-profit platform supporting conservation organisations to scale their impact.
Ms. Burley also serves on the US Stakeholder Council for 1t.org, the Curator for the Washington DC Global Shaper Hub, and a member of #GenerationRestoration Hub. She was a Climate Pact Ambassador for the European Commission (DG CLIMA) in the United Kingdom in 2021-2022 and a lifelong fellow for On Deck Climate Tech.
Ms. Burley’s prior experience in nature and climate spans over 10 years across international organisations (such as UNEP), the private sector, and academia. She is also a leader in decarbonizing aviation, pioneering sustainable fuels at IATA, IAG, and as an academic for the London School of Economics (LSE) where she designed a novel electro-fuel. The techno-economic electro-fuel proposal garnered government and industry recognition, securing support and investment.
Christie holds a MSc in Environment and Development from LSE, a MicroMasters from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and BSc in Economics from Royal Holloway, University of London.
