De Rui leads research on sustainability-related themes such as climate change, nature, supply chains, and inequality that will have material impact on GIC’s investment portfolio. By collaborating with industry partners, peers, academic thought leaders, and GIC’s investment teams, De Rui develops investment integration tools, analytics, and strategies for GIC to be future-ready for these long-term trends.
He is a member of the AIGCC Board Committee and chairs AIGCC’s Paris-Aligned Investing working group which seeks to share and advance emerging investor solutions for facilitating the transition to a net zero emissions economy. In recognition of his passion and expertise in advocating for sustainable investing, he was awarded AsianInvestor’s Top 10 Sovereign Wealth Fund Executives in Asia for 2024. De Rui holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Northwestern University.
