
How commercial mobility is driving the new space race
Fifty years after Apollo, NASA's Artemis programme and private capital are returning humanity to the Moon to stay. Here is how lunar mobility is building a permanent space economy.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lunar Outpost. Led company to historic accomplishments in the field of space resources, advanced spacecraft and robotics, including the first ever sale of lunar resources to NASA and assisting with the production of oxygen on Mars. Led development of the industry-leading Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform (MAPP) rover, which in 2025 became the first commercial rover on another planetary body; MAPP will be used on four upcoming missions to the Moon to provide lunar surface mobility. Also co-designed a LEGO set, with Lunar Outpost becoming the first commercial space company to be immortalized in LEGO form. Currently leading the company and a world-class team – including General Motors, Leidos, MDA Space and Goodyear – to develop a human-rated rover for NASA’s Artemis campaign. Previously led the large-scale manufacturing and deployment of AI- powered monitoring assets on Earth. Holds MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Space Resources from Colorado School of Mines, and a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
