What could a dedicated international panel to tackle inequality achieve?
The G20 report has called for a global expert panel on inequality based on the IPCC. That idea has merit – but inequality is different from climate change.
Karina Batthyány is the former Executive Secretary at CLACSO (Latin American Council of Social Sciences), Full Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of the Republic (Uruguay). Her work focuses on issues of gender, public policies, unpaid work, politics of care in Latin America. She is a Co-Chair of the Social science matters programme at the International Science Council.
