Many alien plants and animals have been introduced to Africa from other regions and then have spread from country to country, often having devastating effects.
Katelyn Faulkner is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Centre for Invasion Biology funded by SANBI’s Invasive Species Programme and based at the University of Pretoria. Her current research focuses on the pathways of introduction of alien species and the development of systems to identify potential invaders before they are introduced
