Luca Bennici is a Partner in McKinsey & Company's Dubai office and leads the firm's AI Infrastructure service line across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EEMA). His work focuses on the technology and infrastructure choices underpinning AI at scale, including AI data centers, compute infrastructure, AI platforms, and AI applications.
He has worked with public institutions and private-sector organizations across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. Luca advises governments, investors, and technology and infrastructure organizations on the strategies, investments, and infrastructure decisions required to build digital and AI ecosystems.
He has defined or reviewed more than 20 national-level strategies spanning digital infrastructure, data and AI, and emerging technologies. He has also led work on AI investment priorities and major AI data center investments and partnerships across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
His published work has examined sovereign AI, the evolution of next-generation data center infrastructure, and the technology and sustainability questions shaping the future of compute.
Before joining McKinsey, Luca spent eight years in telecommunications consulting across Europe and the Middle East. He holds graduate degrees in Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management from Politecnico di Milano, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
