Mark Allen

Professor, Durham University

I research the tectonics of the continents, which means the processes by which they deform as a result of the motion of the major tectonic plates. Most of my work has been in Eurasia, which has been affected by the collision of both the India and Arabian plates over the last few tens of millions of years.

Since 2005 I have been in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Durham.
