Pedro Lopes, with a degree in International Relations from the University of Coimbra and a Masters in Conflict Resolution from the University of Bradford, UK, organized Cabo Verde's inaugural TEDx event. At 31, Pedro became Cabo Verde's youngest government member, serving as Secretary of State for Innovation & TVET. He conceived the Prime Minister's Youth Council and "Cabo Verde Digital," revolutionizing the country's digital landscape.

Pedro also participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in the United States and currently, Pedro serves as Secretary of State for Digital Economy and is a council member of the World Economic Forum - Global Future Councils and he is part of the Obama Foundation
