Ronaldo Lemos is a lawyer, academic, and commentator specializing in technology, law, and policy. Recognized as a thought leader in these fields, he holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and has been a Visiting Scholar at institutions such as MIT Media Lab, Princeton University, and the University of Oxford. He is a member of Meta's Oversight Board, Spotify's Safety Advisory Council, the Stellar Development Foundation, and other influential organizations. Ronaldo is the founder of the Institute for Technology & Society of Rio (ITS Rio) and a partner at Rennó Penteado Advogados, a leading Brazilian law firm specializing in technology.
He co-authored Brazil’s Internet Law (Marco Civil da Internet, 2014) and contributed to the development of Brazil’s National IoT Plan (2018). Ronaldo writes a weekly column for Folha de S.Paulo, one of Brazil’s most influential newspapers, and hosts Expresso Futuro, a television series exploring technology and innovation.
His work has received international recognition, including the Golden Nica from the Prix Ars Electronica (2007) and the Sichuan TV Festival Gold Panda Award (2019) for Expresso Futuro.
